Theresa + Aaron | A Vintage Inspired Wedding at The Bergamont | Oregon, WI

One of my favorite memories from Theresa and Aaron's wedding day was when Theresa's dad saw her for the first time! He walked in the room, saw Theresa, and had to turn away and walk out because seeing his daughter in her wedding gown was just too much! Then the tears, everyone in the room (including me) was crying!! It was such a special moment and one I'll probably never forget :)

The rest of the day was a little challenging with the ever changing weather. We had pouring down rain, big gusts of wind, and the sun that came out for about 30 seconds. Like most wedding days, something happens beyond your control and you have to change some of your plans. Theresa and Aaron kept smiling all day as we kept changing plans and even portrait locations!

Kelly + Ken | Warm and Cozy Wedding at The Lageret | Stoughton, WI

Kelly and Ken's wedding was all about having fun and celebrating this bright, vibrant, and energetic couple! Family and friends came from all over to watch these two say "I do" to each other and they were treated to beautiful and cozy decor, the best wall of doughnuts you will ever see, and Kelly and Ken starting the party off right with one of the best first dances I've ever seen!

Planning a wedding is Wisconsin for the beginning of fall, you really have to be prepared for any type of weather. Luckily, these two were able to just roll with our ever changing plans throughout the day! And even luckier for me, they had a stunning ceremony space that we could do the first look in when it started to rain! I actually think the dark and rainy day enhanced the beauty of their day! Lush greens, soft candle light, and a warm and cozy color palette all blended together to create an atmosphere that was not only romantic, but it just made you comfortable and feel like home around family and friends! Sam + Chris | Gorgeous Outdoor Wedding at The Paoli Mill | Paoli, Wisconsin

Sam and Chris not only planned a stunning wedding to attend and photograph, but these two were just such a pleasure to work with for the entire process of their wedding planning!! So many beautiful and thoughtful details, so many unique pieces, and all in one of my new favorite venues around Madison! From beginning to end (haha, you'll definitely want to see some of the crazy fun at their reception) this day and these people will always be one of my favorites :)

Ericka + Jared | Heartfelt Wedding at The Lageret | Stoughton, Wisconsin

I always say how I love tears on a wedding day because when you cry on a wedding day they are tears of joy, love, and happiness! Those are the kind of tears that I'm okay with :) Well I had to stop myself from tearing up a couple times during the day with Ericka and Jared! There were so many beautiful and heartfelt moments, but my favorite had to be when Jared gave Ericka the notebook that he had written his vows in. He started writing in this notebook shortly after they met and it culminated with the vows that he read to her on their wedding day! Does it get any sweeter?!

An Experiement in Black and White at the Madison Club | Madison, WI

An all black and white wedding!! Before the 1930's you only had one option for wedding photography, and that was black and white film. Now we live in a world with digital cameras and the technology to change the images in any way we want. I have always loved black and white images and thought that they can just convey so much more emotion! While working with a friend last week we were talking about how cool it would be to deliver a wedding or portrait session in black and white, so I went back to Kelsey and Mark's beautiful wedding from 3 years ago because I thought it would really look beautiful in all black and white! What do you think? Do you see these images differently? More or less emotion? Less distractions from random or bright colors? Someday I'd love to get back to shooting film and even shooting a whole session in black and white film, I think it would be stunning!!
