A Cozy In Home Session | Madison, Wisconsin

A Cozy In Home Session | Madison, Wisconsin

Wedding trends come and go, but there is one trend in the photography industry that I hope will always be here and that is in home sessions! Who doesn't want to get all cuddled up and cozy in your home?! And if you're worried that your home isn't photogenic or perfectly styled, rent an Airbnb for the night! That way you get a little staycation as well :)

Anniversary and "Just Because" Portrait Sessions | Madison, WI

Anniversary and "Just Because" Portrait Sessions | Madison, WI

Happy New Year!! I love this time of year. Lots of quality time with family and friends that you don't get to see as often as you'd like, great food, and a time for reflection and goal setting for the new year ahead. One of my goals is to start photographing more anniversary portrait sessions.

You don't need to have a special occasion to celebrate the ones you love and have new portraits taken! I think it's important to have more experiences in life and to make memories with those you love. Make it even more special by having beautiful, professional images taken as well. I had the opportunity to photograph Lori and Jim, who as you can see are just as much in love as the day they were married, and have not had any professional portraits taken of just the two of them since their wedding day! When I shared these images with Lori's daughter, Katrina, she wrote back, "I can’t even tell you what these mean to me, Jen. They’re seriously so, so perfect. I’m literally teary-eyed looking through them. I’m a writer, and I’m at a complete loss for words. Just, thank you."

Take a little time to make memories and make a beautiful memory that others will cherish as well. It can be for an anniversary, or my favorite reason to have portraits taken, just because!

Men's Lifestyle | Lake Monona, Madison, WI

Men's Lifestyle | Lake Monona, Madison, WI

A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to photograph Israel Lopez for a fun little lifestyle photo shoot. On a walk with a friend I had found a tee pee that someone had built on Lake Monona. I knew this was something that definitely had to be used! Luckily I have a friend that just happens to do some modeling and was perfect for these images.

Not only did I want to feature some of these images, but I also wanted to raise awareness for the Chins Up Foundation. Israel started this wonderful organization to encourage kids and give them an opportunity to have a mentor and communicate with collegiate athletes. Israel has a very inspiring personal story and history that he has turned into a passion for helping kids. Not only has he created this great organization to help inspire kids, but he has also started to speak to assemblies at public schools about his journey and how each kid matters.
