Madison engagement session
To start 2020 off right I thought I should blog the adorable couple who will be my first wedding of this year, Kelly and Cooper! They chose classic downtown Madison locations which means we get a combination of beautiful architecture, lake views, and beautiful parks. That’s one of the things I really love about Madison is that you can get all of that in one session all within a small radius.
Cheers to the new year and I can’t wait to start my 2020 wedding season!!
I love Madison for lots of reasons, but as a photographer I have great access to both city and natural backgrounds all in a close area! Not being from Madison, Annabeth and Patrick wanted to show off the city that they now call home in their engagement session. What better way to show off this midwest gem than to start downtown and finish on Lake Mendota! One of my favorite things to do is to just walk around and wander with my couples. We talk, we stop for some portraits, and we keep walking and talking some more! It’s relaxed, it’s easy, and fun for everyone!
One thing I really love to do is wander around while we take portraits. I think it makes everything more relaxed and natural (haha as natural as it can be getting portraits taken) because it’s something you just do normally! We got a lot a lot of great fall color as we made our way around Willy St and finally out to the Arboretum!
And you never know what you may find or decide to do as you’re wandering! Found a great sign and made a super smart decision to stop for donuts :) Brittney and Eric were so effortless to photograph though as they are naturally affectionate and filly with each other!
Lynnea and Brian's engagement session was just a dream! When Lynnea asked if they could split their time between and in-home session and outdoor winter portraits I immediately got excited and said, yes!! But then Lynnea to their engagement session to the next level when she got a gorgeous red gown from Rent The Runway. Their amazing style and crazy amount of adorableness together easily made for one of my favorite sessions! And I have to give a quick shoutout to their cat Bandit, how cute is he?!
I knew once I started picking favorites to share a sneak peek from this engagement session and it was so hard to narrow them down that I'd have to feature it in a blog post! I met Leslie and Ethan out at the Arboretum and right away I knew this was going to be a super fun session!
As you can tell they are so much in love and these two are just so much fun to be around! It was effortless as we wandered around the Arboretum capturing fun and candid moments, but also more intimate and loving moments between the two of them. I cannot wait for their wedding this fall and to get to hang out with these two again :)
